Democrats Work - in conjunction with Michelle Obama, Colorado First Lady Jeanne Ritter, the Democratic National Convention Committee, Metro Volunteers, and Volunteers of America - is making service an integral part of the Convention in Denver, by helping to coordinate Delegate Service Day at service sites throughout the Denver metro area on Wednesday, August 27th. Projects will range from canned food sorting to neighborhood cleanups and tree plantings. These events will allow delegates to both contribute to and celebrate the people and organizations making positive change and strengthening communities in the city hosting this historic Convention. Good times!
Colorado Director Erin Egan spoke to Ultimate Politics about the project. Interviewer, Wade Norris provided video of the conversation and invited viewer comments on Daily Kos, SquareState.net, BlueNC, and Diatribune. We are excited to announce the launch of our new video campaign, "Everyone Is Doing It." You can see that some really major stars contributed to this effort. We are very proud.
This campaign is part of our larger effort to promote and grow a "politics of service" - a politics that advances progressive values through tangible action at the local level. Check it out:
We clean up our neighborhoods and parks. We support teachers and students, paint public schools, and build playgrounds. We work at food banks, plant trees, and support our troops and their families.
We are Democrats. We are committed to service. And we put our values into action.
Want to put your values into action? Well, let’s get to work.
